Amy has been teaching in the greater Milwaukee area since 2007. In 2012, she taught abroad at the Junior Davey Bodhrán Academy in Co. Sligo, Ireland. And in August of 2019 Amy joined the faculty at the highly acclaimed Valley of the Moon Scottish fiddling school set in the gorgeous surroundings of the beautiful Redwoods in Boulder Creek, California. Celebrating their 36th year in existence with maestro, master fiddler, and camp captain Alasdair Fraser at the helm, Amy taught alongside some of the greats including Natalie Haas, Nic Gareiss, Hanneke Cassel, and Ryan McKasson. Currently an instructor for the Irish Fest School of Music (IFSM), Amy’s also taught for the Irish Fest Summer School, the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music and the Irish Music School of Chicago.
Amy teaches Irish music by ear, so she highly recommends that students bring along a recording device. Handouts are also provided with different rhythms and sticking styles that are covered. She teaches privately, in group classes and workshops.
